Another Award for Shaftesbury Park
We’re delighted to share the news that Shaftesbury Park Primary School were shortlisted for the Education Business Awards and consequently won the Community category against competition from schools across the country. Even discovering that we were among the nominees was a surprise; the award organisers included us after finding out about our unique curriculum and vision to develop children who think about their world, enlarge their world, and change their world. There were several incredible schools among the nominees, so for Shaftesbury Park to win was an incredible achievement.
The award is for schools that have shown excellence and achievement in improving their community. At Shaftesbury Park our curriculum, but especially our Rights Respecting status and Enterprise skills, encourages and enables children to make a positive difference in their world. From campaigning to improve the area, fundraising for the school, or championing national and international causes, our pupils are already making a positive difference to their world.
Mrs Richards collected the award on behalf of the school at a central London ceremony last week. However, the award is the result of the work of every member of staff and child at the school, and highlights the impact that a Shaftesbury Park education can have.
