Catch Up Premium

In June 2020, the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up on learning missed as a result of COVID-19, especially the most vulnerable pupils and pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds who are known to have been disproportionately affected. This funding included a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools had the support needed to help all pupils make up for missed learning.

The catch-up premium received by Shaftesbury Park Primary School was a total of £15,100.

The additional funding received by Shaftesbury Park Primary School was used to fund specific activities to support pupils to catch up for lost teaching, as outlined in our Catch-Up Premium Expenditure Plan.

Please note: In line with government guidance, the Catch-up Premium strategy outcomes have been reported alongside pupil premium outcomes in the SPPS Pupil Premium Strategy and Impact Statement, available to view on our Pupil Premium page here.
