A Teacher's View on Joining the Staff Team
I have such a huge sense of pride being a Shaftesbury Park teacher. From the moment I applied to be a class teacher I knew that by working at Shaftesbury Park I would feel as if I was a part of something bigger.
Being a bilingual teacher at Shaftesbury Park is a particularly fulfilling, exciting experience. Each day presents a unique opportunity to inspire young minds while fostering a deep appreciation for languages and cultures. I love the challenge and creativity that come with teaching in two languages—it keeps lessons dynamic and engaging, and watching students grow confident in expressing themselves bilingually is deeply rewarding.
Shaftesbury Park has a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diversity and encourages curiosity. The support from staff and the enthusiasm of the children make it a joy to come to work every day from the moment I started. It’s a place where innovation in education is embraced, and I feel empowered to try new teaching strategies and adapt my lessons to the interests and needs of my students.
What I especially enjoy is the sense of community. Whether it’s working closely with families, participating in school-wide events, or collaborating with colleagues, there's a shared passion for learning and development. Being able to contribute to such a nurturing environment, while helping shape globally-minded, linguistically confident young people, makes this more than just a job, and I feel lucky to be part of it.
