PTFA - Shaftesbury Park Parents, Teachers and Friends Association
Who We Are
The Shaftesbury Park Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) brings together families, staff, and supporters who want to help every child at our school thrive. We work to strengthen the school community, create opportunities, and support the wellbeing and development of all pupils.
Our Aims
Raise Funds for the School: We organise events and activities throughout the year to raise money for resources, experiences, and improvements that directly benefit the children.
Build the School’s Profile and Reputation: We celebrate the achievements of our pupils and staff, promote the school within the wider community, and help make Shaftesbury Park a place families are proud to be part of.
Support Child Welfare and Development: We help enhance the learning environment, support wellbeing initiatives, and create opportunities that allow every child to grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Bio: Megan has two children at Shaftesbury Park and a third in secondary school. Native to California, Megan spent a year in Rennes, France as an exchange student, and speaks French at home with her children. Her children bring experience of two prior language immersion/bilingual education programs, which she hopes to leverage to further Shaftesbury Park’s mission. Megan is an engineer with experience in the aerospace and defence industry, and enjoys swimming, running, bouldering, and a good book.
Adam

Bio: Adam has a daughter in Year 1 Écureils (squirrels) and is better known around the playground as Caoilinn’s dad. He’s usually easy to spot at drop-off and pick-up in his fluorescent cycling jacket, steering the family’s trusty chariot (otherwise known as the cargo bike). A Civil Servant by profession, he enjoys bringing people and teams together to deliver positive outcomes. He loves a good coffee and is secretly hoping the school’s bilingual stream will help him improve his French too!

Katie

Bio: Katie is a mum to a bilingual stream son in Year 4. She works in the charity sector, providing help and advice to disadvantaged communities within Wandsworth, and is an avid fantasy and romance reader in her free time.
Aleksandra (Ola)

Bio: Ola is a mum to a bilingual stream student in year 6. Polish by origin, living now for several years in the UK, which she has always considered her second home. Her daughter is bilingual and the French language seemed a great idea to add to that set. Ola is a former teacher and currently a talent recruiter. Also known as a dog walker (a black flattie is easy to spot next to her. Always), and a manager of her daughter’s social and professional calendars. Together, they appreciate music, film, reading and sports.
