Our Exciting Early Years Foundation Stage
A Warm Welcome to Early Years Education at Shaftesbury Park Primary School
At Shaftesbury Park Primary School, we believe that the best learning starts early. Our wonderful Early Years program, which begins at just two years old, creates a fun and stimulating environment where children can explore, play, and grow through discovery.
Our unique approach includes bilingual and enterprise streams, offering a well-rounded, exciting learning experience. In the bilingual stream, children enjoy being introduced to French through songs, stories, and activities. This fun exposure to another language not only helps them build language skills but also fosters an appreciation for different cultures, setting the stage for becoming global citizens.
The enterprise stream encourages creativity and problem-solving by weaving important skills, like teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking, into everyday activities. These skills are developed through play, Forest School adventures, and project-based learning, helping children learn by doing and exploring the outdoors.
At Shaftesbury Park, we make learning meaningful by basing it around exciting half-termly topics. In the nursery, children experience both bilingual and enterprise activities, while also getting started with key early skills like phonics and math. In Reception, the journey continues with the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds phonics scheme, Mastering Number for early math, and Drawing Club to support language and writing skills.
Our Early Years program focuses on the whole child, ensuring that each one thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. Our friendly, dedicated staff work closely with families to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
