Shaftesbury Park pupils shine in Wandsworth Spelling Bee
At Shaftesbury Park Primary School, our unique enterprise and bilingual curriculum sets us apart, but that doesn’t mean we ignore the basics, like spelling. So, we were incredibly proud to see three of our students progress to the finals of the Wandsworth spelling bee.
Starting with an online tournament open to every Wandsworth primary school the borough’s top spellers gathered at Penwortham Primary School for the grand final, and three Shaftesbury Park students were among the finalists.
However, there could only be one winner, and we couldn’t be prouder to announce that one of our year 5 pupils was the best speller in the borough and brought the Wandsworth Spelling Bee trophy back to Shaftesbury Park.
Congratulations to all our finalists, we couldn’t have better ambassadors for approach to nurturing confident learners.
