Our behaviour

Pupils at Shaftesbury Park behave very well in their classes, around the school building and in the playgrounds. The school’s leadership team emphasise the promotion of positive behaviour through praise and excellent relationships between staff and pupils.

As part of our work to become a Unicef ‘Rights Respecting School’, our pupils designed a school charter to illustrate their rights and how they are respected and protected for all whilst at school. We base our behaviour policy upon promotion of this charter.

We believe that all members of our school have the following rights

We all have the right to have a good education; we respect these rights by trying our best in our learning

We all have the right to develop our individuality and talents; we respect these rights by valuing and respecting all cultures, religions and languages

We all have the right to be safe and happy; we respect these rights by behaving positively towards all members of the school

We all have the right to give our opinions; we respect these rights by listening to all adults and the opinions of others

We all have the right to have good friends; we respect these rights by talking to them in the right way
